Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and an former Institute of Culinary Education instructor She is also a television personality. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her trademark spiky blond tresses and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, shares straightforward and simple methods for cooks at home. Chef Burrell is also a part of the top New York establishments, learned about Italian food, its culture and traditions, and participated in Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. Following her graduation with an English and Communication degree in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her passion for the restaurant business by enrolling as a student at The Culinary Institute of America. I was awed by every minute that I was a student in The Culinary Institute of America she states. I couldn't learn enough couldn't do enough couldn't work hard enough. After graduating, Burrell spent one year studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, an Michelin-starred restaurant. While in Italy the chef acquired an appreciation for and understanding of Italian cuisine. It had a significant effect on the way she thinks about food. Burrell is an ambassador for the celebrity chef to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board, which helps kids who have challenges. Burrell travels extensively across the country in her role as a mentor as well as a guest speaker where she discusses her career and love of cooking. Anne has always been grateful she could share the passion that she had for sharing her cooking skills with other people.
