Sarah Chalke
Sarah Chalke was born in Ottawa, Ontario
Canada on 27 August 1976. Angie Chalke, and Doug Chalke are her parents. She is
the middle child. She has an older sister, Natasha Chalke and one younger,
Piper Chalke. Sarah's first acting role was in City Boy (1992), which was a
TV-produced movie. Following her first film, Sarah auditioned in 1993 for the
role "Becky" from Roseanne (1988). The show was seeking an actor to
replace Alicia Goranson quit the show to go to college. Sarah graduated from high
school in 1995 and was a part in the production of Roseanne (1988) between 1994
and 1995. Also, in 1994, Sarah co-starred in the film Ernest Goes to School
(1994), along with Jim Varney. Then, in 1996, she appeared in two movies which
included Robin of Locksley (1996) as well as Stand Against Fear (1996), where
she played a cheerleader "Krista Wilson". Sarah was invited to appear
in a TV show named Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (1998), one year following
Roseanne (1988). Based on the show Nothing Too Good For a Cowboy (1998), the
show also took inspiration from. In 1993 she took over Becky's character on
Roseanne (1988). Said she would like to retire from acting and go to college.
2001 (1993-1997) She played Sara Gilbert's elder sibling in the show Roseanne
(1988) however, she's much younger in real life. Participated in the 1999 CCMA
award ceremony and presented an award for the best single of the year.
[September 1999] Appeared in local Vancouver stage productions, starting aged 8
years old. She is fluent in French as well as German. She volunteers in a
hospice that caters to children who are terminally ill and works for the Audrey
Hepburn Children's Fund. Chalke likes to cook with friends (especially Thai or
sushi) and plays guitar as well as ski, hike (she's an instructor) and
kayaking. Her father is a lawyer as are her parents mediators. They also
operate a child adoption agency. Her parents brought her to China in order to
manage the adoptions of several orphans.
