Paula Faris
Paula Faris is an American journalist
who worked previously as an anchor for television at ABC News. She is most
famous for her time as cohost of Good Morning America Weekend, between 2014 and
2018, as well as hosting of The View, 2015-2018. The show was co-hosted by her
prior co-anchors America This Morning and World News Now. After graduating, she
worked in several communications-related jobs including an operations position
at Mills/James Productions in Columbus, Ohio. Due to the limited opportunities
on TV the company employed her in radio sales. She eventually found work for
one year as a production assistant at WKEF/WRGT and later occasionally anchor
or report. From 2002 until 2005, she was the sports anchor for weekends and
sports anchor on weekdays at WPO-TV in Cincinnati. She was hired as a sports
journalist at the NBC's Chicago affiliate WMAQ-TV between November 2005 and
December 2011, when her contract ended. She was employed by ABC News the news
division in December. On January 2, 2012 she debuted on ABC's World News Now
and America This Morning. She was a journalist and substitute for Good Morning
America during this period. She was then promoted to a New York-based
correspondent for all ABC News programs. The last show she appeared on was World
News Now and America This Morning was on January 22nd in 2013. Her debut was on
Good Morning America Weekend as co-anchor on the 9th of August, 2014. This was
following Bianna Golodryga shifted to Yahoo! News. ABC announced that she would
be joining The View as a cohost for season 19. Her contract was renewed by ABC
for its 20th season on the 3rd of August. She was also renewed as co-host for
Season 21. During the series' 22nd and 21st seasons, she was mostly on the
program's Friday episodes.
