Milena Govich
Milena Govich, director, actor and
musician, has directed many episodes of TV such as Chicago Med (2015), The
Equalizer (2021), FBI The Most Wanted(2020), Chicago Fire (2012), and others.
Additionally, she was co-producer and Co-EP on Dick Wolf's CBS series FBI
(2018). She is currently a part of two pilots currently in development. Milena
was chosen as one of the eight directors in AFI's prestigious Directing
Workshop for Women. Unspeakable is her short film as well as a television show
proof of concept was shown at SXSW. The film also won Best Episodic Award at
the Seattle International Film Festival, and Best Pilot at the SoHo
International Film Festival. Her short film Temporary (2017 written by Milena
Vandervoort) has been screened across the United States. It was awarded the
title of Best Narrative Short at Anthem Film Festival and Best Dark Comedy at
Atlanta ShortsFest. The Director's Choice Award was also awarded at Sedona
International Film Festival. As an actor, Milena has been featured in close to
100 episodes of television. She first gained national attention in CBS's Love
Monkey (2006), then as the prostitute/con-artist Candy on three seasons of
Rescue Me (2004) (Denis Leary/FX). Conviction (2006), the Dick Wolf series, was
her second big role. It culminated in her being named the Emmy-winning female
detective on Law & Order (1990). She has also been featured or recurred
on several other television shows including K-Ville (2007) (Fox); The Defenders
(2010) (CBS); Make It or Break It (2009) (ABC Family) as well as as Lori
Stevens on the MTV drama Finding Carter (2014). Milena has appeared in numerous
movies, including Sordid Things (2010); A Novel Romance (2011) in which she
starred alongside Steve Guttenberg; Pass the Light (2015) and starring
alongside Method Man; as well as #Lucky Number (2015). Milena, a native of
Norman, Oklahoma was the valedictorian at her high school before she completed
a double major vocal performance and a premedical degree at the University of
Central Oklahoma. She was also valedictorian of her high school. She utilized
her ballet classical training shortly after to make her Broadway debut in the
Sam Mendes/Rob Marshall production "Cabaret" at Studio 54.
