Markie Post
Markie Post grew-up in Walnut Creek. She
began her professional career as a film and TV producer, notably "The New
Card Sharks", (1978) as well as "Card Sharks," (1986). She went
on to produce projects like Double Dare (1976), and was a guest on numerous television
shows such as E! True Hollywood Story (1996) and Electra Woman and Dyna Girl
(2001). Her most popular role was for her role as "Christine
Sullivan" in the show, who was a Night Court star (1984). She was featured
in more than 156 episodes of the comedy from 1984 to 1992. Marylee (Armstrong)
Post is her daughter. She was a poet and noted nuclear physicist Richard
Freeman Post (November 14 1918 to April 7 in 2015). Two daughters, Katie Ross
(born June 26 in 1987) and Daisy Ross (born on March 30 the 30th of March,
1990), were her second wedding to Michael A. Ross. Born in Palo Alto in
California and raised in Walnut Creek. The school she attended was Las Lomas
High School in Walnut Creek, California; she was an athlete. Received her
Bachelor of Arts degree from Lewis & Clark College in Portland Oregon.
She performed a few trick roping in The Wildest West Show of the Stars (1986).
She was cremated and her ashes returned to her husband Michael A. Ross. She was
a lifelong Democrat. Markie Post passed away on August 7, 2021, three months
away from what would have been her 71st birthday on November 4. She died 27
days before fellow Night Court (1984) co-star Charles Robinson, who passed died
on July 11, 2021. Even though the shows were not related, Night Court (1984)
was the final show to end with Christine Sullivan's character moving to
Washington DC. Hearts Afire (1992) began with Post as Georgie Lahti. Post was a
new character in Hearts Afire (1992), and she later moved into a smaller town
following her work in Washington DC.
