Thora Birch

Thora Birch was born March 11th 1983. She is an American actress, producer, and director. She made her film debut in Purple People Eater (1988) in which she was awarded an Young Artist Award for "Best Young Actress Under Nine Years Old". Birch was a child star who appeared in movies such as All I Want For Christmas (1991) and the Patriot Games(1992), Hocus Pocus (1993), Monkey Trouble (94), Now and Then (1995), and Alaska (1996). She won a Young Artist Award in the category of "Best Young Actress under Nine Years of Age." In 1999, Birch played Jane Burnham in American Beauty. This film brought her an BAFTA nomination. Then, she starred as Enid in the critically acclaimed Ghost World (2001), getting a nomination to the Golden Globe for Best Actress. Birch was nominated Emmy Award for her performance in Homeless to Harvard The Liz Murray Story in 2003. Birch has also appeared in Dungeons & Dragons (2000) and The Hole (2001), Silver City (2004) and Dark Corners (2006). She was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2003. Birch played the role of Whisperer Mary/Gamma in the season 10 episode of The Walking Dead (2019-202). Birch was the eldest of children born to Jack Birch (and Carol Connors) in Los Angeles. Birch, whose family originally included the surname Biersch is German-Jewish and Scandinavian. She also has French-Canadianand French-Canadian and Italian heritage. [6] Her name, "Thora," is taken from the name of Thora, the Norse god thunder and lightning ("Thor") and would be her name if she were a young boy. Kian Bolt Birch is her younger brother, is also her mother. They are both former adult film actors and were both in Deep Throat. Due to their experience in the entertainment industry, they were hesitant to help her, but were convinced to show Thora's photograph to agents by a babysitter who noticed her mimicking commercials. Birch was just four years old when she had her first big break when the babysitter took her to audition for a Quaker Oats advertisement.
