Deborah Rhea
Seehorn (born May 12, 1972) is an American actress from the United States. Most
well-known is her role as the attorney Kim Wexler on AMC's Better Call Saul
(2015-2018), for which she has been presented with the Satellite Award for Best
Supporting Actress in a TV Series, Miniseries, or Television Film. Also, she
was in the NBC's Whitney (2011)-2013 and ABC's I'm with Her(2003)-2004 and
TNT's Franklin & Bash (2011)-2014. Deborah Rhea Seehorn, a Norfolk
native was born on May 12, 1972. Her mother worked as an executive assistant in
the United States Navy, and her father was an agent of the Naval Investigative
Service. She was raised in a family which moved frequently, including the
cities of Washington, D.C., Arizona as well as Japan. Following the footsteps
of her mother and father, she studied painting, drawing and architectural
design from the age of a child. She continued pursuing the visual arts, but she
also had an increased interest in acting and was exposed to contemporary
theatre in the college. She received a BA degree in Studio Art from George
Mason University in 1994. While in college, Seehorn was looking to get into
theater, after being encouraged by her acting instructor. She attempted to make
her mark by working in various ancillary jobs in D.C. theater. She eventually
got important roles in local theatre productions However, she still had to work
odd jobs to make ends meet and she was cast in a variety of short industrial
instructional films. Then she started to get roles in more television shows,
frequently playing roles that she described as "very funny, sarcastic and
knowledgeable women" which was similar to her idol Bea Arthur. But, the
majority of these roles were for short-run series that ended after just one or
two seasons. Seehorn was part of Better Call Saul, the Breaking Bad spinoff
series. Seehorn is Kim Wexler (a lawyer) and is the love-interest for the Jimmy
McGill character.
